Competition Date: Tuesday, November 11, 2025
Location: Outrigger Kona Resort & Spa
In Celebration of: The 54th Annual Kona Coffee Cultural Festival (Nov 7–16, 2025)

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible to compete in a local or state preliminary competition for Miss America or Miss America's Teen you must:

 

  • Be a female

  • Meet the age criteria as shown below

  • Be living full-time as a resident of your state, or employed full-time in person, or enrolled full-time as a student at an accredited school/college.

To be eligible for the Miss Kona Coffee Competition, delegates must currently reside, or have previously resided, on Hawai‘i Island for a minimum of two years.

Age Criteria

  • Miss America 18-28: must be NO OLDER than 28 on September 30, 2026, and no younger than 18 on Sept 1, 2026.

  • Miss America’s Teen 14-18: must be no YOUNGER than 14 by September 1 and no older than 18 on Sept 30, 2026.

Teen Age Criteria- Additional Notes:

  • Miss America HQ allows the option for 18-year-old contestants to have a ‘pivot’ year to decide whether they would like to compete in the Teen or Miss divisions.

  • Additionally, once an 18-year-old decides on the division she may compete in, she may not change divisions until the next cycle.

    Required before attending Orientation

  2. Register with Miss America
    Join here

    • $49.99 annual membership

    • Cancel before auto-renewal next year if not continuing

  3. Complete the Delegate Agreement (prompted after registration)

  4. Register for Local Competition - Click Here

  5. Using personalized link received, set up your GRFW Spot Fund to raise $30 for American Heart Association.

  6. Pay $300 Local Application Fee

Application fee includes official wardrobe from Rebel Athletics (Health & Fitness phase) and required opening number outfits.

COMMUNICATION EXPECTATIONS

Strong communication is key to your success. Delegates are expected to:

  • Respond promptly to messages and emails

  • Stay current with all official updates

  • Meet all deadlines from directors or the delegate handbook


Your professionalism and reliability start with how you communicate.

COMMITMENT EXPECTATIONS

​Expect to commit ~4 hours/week — including:

  • Trainings

  • Service projects

  • Delegate bonding

  • In-person or virtual appearances

Participation isn’t mandatory, but what you put in is what you get out.

FUNDRAISING EXPECTATIONS

Delegates help support scholarships and the program by:

  • Selling festival buttons (required for event access)

  • Selling program book ads

  • Selling competition tickets

  • Selling festival cookbooks (optional)

  • Participating in other small fundraisers

🔸 Minimum fundraising thresholds must be met in order to compete.
🔸 Competition line-up is determined by fundraising performance
🔸 $30 donation required for Go Red for Women (American Heart Association)
